In order to protect the City of Bainbridge Island water supply, the City established a Cross-Connection Control Program codified in the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code (BIMC) Chapter 13.20 and in accordance with the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 246-290-490. These state and local laws require the City to have all premises surveyed by a licensed cross connection specialist which may require installation of a backflow to isolate any potential hazard that may be present.
