National Night Out

What is National Night Out?

National Night Out is an annual family-friendly event hosted by police departments across the nation.  The event promotes crime prevention and personal safety by providing educational materials for parents, featuring games about safety for kids, and allowing community members to get to know the officers who serve them.  There is also free food, prizes, and impressive equipment displays featuring police cars, motorcycles, an ambulance, a fire vehicle, BIPD’s police boat, and more.  The location of the event may vary from year to year, but it always takes place on the first Tuesday evening in August.  The 2020 event will be August 4 from 5pm to 8pm.  Check back for updates!

Community Support

Support for National Night Out is provided by local merchants and non-profit organizations. The BIPD is deeply grateful to all the local merchants, non-profit organizations and volunteers who help make the evening a resounding success year after year. We can’t do it without you!
