Choose Renewable Energy
Renewable energy is energy that comes from natural sources that are replenished on a human timescale—meaning they don’t run out when we use them.
An energy source is considered renewable if it naturally replenishes quickly, its use doesn’t permanently deplete the resource, and it generally produces much lower greenhouse gas emissions than fossil fuels.
Types of renewable energy includes:
- Solar – energy from sunlight (solar panels, solar thermal)
- Wind – energy from moving air (wind turbines)
- Hydropower – energy from flowing water (dams, run-of-river systems)
- Geothermal – heat from inside the Earth
- Biomass – energy from organic materials like wood, crops, or waste (renewable when managed sustainably)
