Facilities Maintenance
Responsibilities
Facilities maintenance responsibilities cover city-owned buildings, parks, trails, traffic islands, and open space properties including the following:
- City Hall
- Ted Spearman Justice Center
- Senior Center/Commons
- Public Works Hidden Cove Road Facility
- Waterfront Park
- Sound to Olympics Trail
- Waterfront Trail
Building maintenance activities include facility painting and repairs, janitorial cleaning, HVAC management, and security system support. Grounds maintenance activities include garbage collection, mowing, weeding, and monitoring irrigation systems. Lineal moorage, dock, and buoy regulatory inspections and repairs are also ongoing responsibilities.
Facilities personnel coordinate with the Bainbridge Island community to support events such as the Farmer's Market, 4th of July Celebrations, Rotary Auction, Dinner on the STO (pictured to the right), and more.
The City will remove graffiti from city-owned property or facilities, usually within five business days.
The City will not remove graffiti from non-city owned property or facilities. The City will make a reasonable effort to notify other public or private entities about graffiti.
- To report graffiti on Puget Sound Energy facilities, concerned community members can call 888-225-9498.
- To report graffiti on CenturyLink facilities, concerned community members can call 800-573-1311.
Paint on city roadways that is deemed obscene or a public safety hazard will normally be removed within one business day and only during daylight hours.
Community members can alert the City of graffiti that requires assessment and/or removal through SeeClickFix or by calling Public Works Operations & Maintenance (O&M) during normal working hours at 206-842-1212.
